It is safe to say that technology has played a huge role in our generations upbringing. Video games, laptops, and phones were becoming more and more industrialized as the world was becoming more dependent on it. Whether it was playing Super Mario Bros. on my gamecube or using my Razor phone for keeping up with my friends, becoming familiar with these technological advancements came as naturally as learning how to walk. However, despite using technology for recreational use, the education field has also become heavily dependent on many different devices and programs. Leave it to Microsoft word to assist you in writing an essay or the SmartBoard to create a more interactive aspect to classroom teaching. These are just a few examples from what I can remember growing up. Technology has without a doubt become one of the most influential aspects of life today.

Although I am sure that this class will discuss technology within the classroom, I hope that it touches up on the connection between those who are apart of the lower-income families and are in lower-performing school systems and technology. Because we live in a world where being able to navigate technology is nearly essential, students with a lack of exposure to that technology can fall behind. It would be interesting to see how that disconnect affects students.

After taking my learning style quiz, I found that I am primarily an intuitive and global learner. This was no surprise to me because I prefer to link cultures and others lives to the information I learn in class. My intuitive learning style stems from the fact that I am more of a what "could be" learner as opposed to sticking to facts and established methods of practice. It is interesting to see how these different approaches affect our abilities to retain information in a way that works for us.
